Happiness Hack - Switch up your tech

Today I arrived at work feeling lacklustre and itching for a change of scene... that exact urge that makes me rearrange rooms in my house on a random rainy Sunday afternoon. But I work in an open plan office, I can't just re-position my desk, and I don't even have cube walls up decorate...

But I do have the ability to change the desktop wallpaper on my computer, and access to Google image search!
I spent a few minutes with my morning coffee seeking out some gorgeous photography and made a folder on my computer with beautiful photos to switch out whenever I crave a change of scene... I picked a beautiful close up of eucalyptus leaves in a vase, and spent the rest of the day feeling a little burst of happiness and calm each time I glimpsed my desktop throughout the day.

So, my happiness hack is: Update your desktop background and the theme in your most commonly used applications to give yourself a change of scene at work. Bonus tip:  Use unsplash.com for gorgeous, free, high resolution photos of all kinds of things. There is even an account that curates beautiful photos of pineapples. Pineapples!
